Gift Buying: Thinking Outside the Box

I know the frustration of trying to find a gift for somebody who seems to have everything. What finally helped me take the angst out of gift buying was starting to think outside the box. Since then, it seems to be easier to find something that my loved one will like, whatever the occasion. These days, I look in unusual places for gift ideas. Instead of retail shops, I see what is happening at local auction houses. I may look into getting my loved one something they've expressed an interest in recently, like taking guitar lessons. I may even surprise my friend with a visit from a chef who prepares a special meal just for him or her. If you have the gift buying blues, let me help. I'll provide some tips on how to get clues for wonderful presents that will delight and amaze your loved ones.

3 Tips For Displaying Your Pop Culture Figures

Peggy Lee

From television shows and comic books to movie franchises and music, there are many forms of pop culture to celebrate. If you are a fan of pop culture in some manner, you may have a collection of Funko Pops figures that align with your favorite show, movie, franchise, or a combination of it all. Even though they are becoming so popular, most people do not know what to do with their pop culture figures. With this guide, you will learn a few ways to display your collectible figures.

Stacked

One of the easiest ways to display your pop culture figures is to leave them in their boxes and stack them on top of one another. This may seem too simple, but it can be an effective and efficient way to display them in an organized manner.

Make sure to leave the boxes intact, not opening the carton to remove the figure inside. Then, start stacking the boxed figures on top of one another from the ground up.

It is best to stack the boxes on level ground, so if you have carpet or rugs on the floor, consider a different area with a level surface. Hardwood or tile floors are best, since the surface is hard and level. If you do not have level floor surface, stack the boxed figures on a piece of furniture.

Consider stacking the boxed figures up and around a doorway or along an entire wall in your theater or game room.

Shelved

Wall or standing shelves are another great way to display and organize your pop culture fixtures.

Glass or wood bookshelves can be arranged in different areas of your home and used for displaying your figures randomly. Gather the figures that belong to one particular element of pop culture together and arrange on one shelf or on one bookshelf.

If space is an issue, mount shelves on the wall above a bed, desk, or entertainment console. Display your pop culture figures on these shelves with or without their boxes.

If you have certain figures that are more valuable than others, consider displaying them in a glass cabinet or in a glass or acrylic cases on the shelving units.

Styled

Finally, you can display your figures in a stylish way by thinking outside the box.

For example, arrange superhero figures in the shape of their superhero emblem. If your collection consists of mainly space and science fiction figures, consider mounting on a wall shelf with a space-themed background.

With one or more of these ideas, you can display your pop culture figures with ease.
